The Student Loan is an eclectic four-piece bluegrass/newgrass band from Bowling Green, Ohio. Mixing elements of traditional bluegrass and folk music with elements of rock, jazz, and blues, The Student Loan has a sound that defies genre and is both familiar and new. Chad Kimbler (mandolin, vocals), Mark Gerolami (banjo, guitar, vocals), Liz Chibucos (guitar, fiddle, vocals) and Julio Appling (bass, vocals) make up this not so traditional bluegrass quartet. From February 14 – March 19 the band toured Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, Indonesia, Samoa and Fiji as a part of Rhythm Road American Music Abroad. From November 17 to December 14 the band will be in Yemen, Sicily, Cyprus, and Algeria, with guest bassist Taylor Bergren-Chrisman.
